Ad Infinitum Due Out September 18 via Merge

Telekinesis
Under the Radar favorite Telekinesis (the project of Seattle-based singer/songwriter/drummer Michael Benjamin Lerner) is releasing his fourth album, Ad Infinitum, next Friday (September 18) via longtime label Merge. Now you can stream the whole thing below, via NPR First Listen.
We’ve previously been treated to the album’s first single, “In a Future World,” seen a trailer for the album, and heard “Sleep In” (which features a Speak & Spell). Ad Infinitum doesn’t completely abandon the power-pop vibe of Telekinesis’ first three albums, but it’s certainly inspired by the kind of 1980s electro-pop and New Wave you might find on a classic John Hughes soundtrack. The album was recorded in Lerner’s basement home studio and Lerner embraced synthesizers and drum machines for a fresh take on Telekinesis’ sound.
Check out the full album stream below, followed by Telekinesis’ upcoming tour dates. Also, read our recent 2014 Artist Survey interview with Telekinesis or Lerner’s My Favorite Thing post on Flin Flon’s A-Ok or our Halloween 2013 Questionnaire with Lerner or the guest post he wrote on the film The Sandlot.
