Supergroup Mister Heavenly Releases First Recordings
The Digital Stream Includes Two Tracks.

Newly formed supergroup Mister Heavenly—whose members include indie rock stalwarts Nick Diamonds of Islands and Unicorns, Joe Plummer of Modest Mouse, and Man Man’s Honus Honus—have gifted anxiously awaiting audiophiles (you know who you are) with a digital single of their first official recordings. The single includes two tracks, the cleverly titled “Mister Heavenly” and “Pineapple Girl,” and can either be streamed or downloaded—your choice—at indie label Sub Pop, or check out the stream below. The powerhouse trio describes their music as “doom-wop”: a blend of doo-wop and doomed love songs. Fortunately, the juxtaposition of the band’s heavy guitar riffs yet feel-good beats make Heavenly Mister anything but doomed.
Mister Heavenly signed with Sub Pop late November 2009 and toured the West Coast last December with actor Michael Cera kicking it onstage as the bassist. There is currently no word on when the band will release it’s debut LP.
