Sydney Minsky Sargeant of Working Men’s Club has announced his debut solo album, Lunga, set to release September 12 via Domino. He has also shared its first single “I Don’t Wanna.” Check out the single and album details below.
Sargeant most recently released a self-titled EP under the moniker Demise of Love, his project with Daniel Avery and Ghost Culture, late last month.
In a press release, Minsky-Sargeant says that Lunga “is another way of saying we are all one and the same deep down and that we should try to remember that a little more. In a world that has never felt so scary and polarized, I just hope this album connects with people.
“I’m trying to wear my heart-on-my-sleeve a bit more, these songs come from a search for meaning and understanding. I’m always trying to unpick myself and those around me, the ones I love and loved the most. There were thoughts and feelings that these songs helped me express, address and make sense of.”
Last week, Minsky-Sargeant also previewed Lunga’s first track “Intro,” as well as performing a live session recording of another single yet to be released titled “For Your Hand.”
Working Men’s Club will be supporting LCD Soundsystem at four of their eight dates as part of their residency at Brixton Academy that kicks off this week in London.
