Thao & The Get Down Stay Down Announce “We The Common”
Out February 5 Via Ribbon Music
Oct 25, 2012 Thao & The Get Down Stay Down
On February 5, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down will release new album We The Common. Recorded at John Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone studios, the album features some notable names, including producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Bill Callahan, the Walkmen, Explosions in the Sky) and Joanna Newsom, who joins the band for “Kindness Be Conceived.”
“We the Common is an album about wanting to be a human who tries and is grateful for the opportunity,” says frontwoman, Thao Nguyen. “It is about wanting to be better and closer to people. I have had over a year respite from touring and recording—in this year I started really trying to be a part of the community I live in and the family I was born into.”
