The Aliens to Release Special Edition Book and Second Album in U.S.
…Quick! Someone Call Agent Mulder!
Jun 24, 2009 The Aliens
British band The Aliens have been hard at work, set to inspire a whole new round of extraterrestrial-related music jokes.
In September, utilizing Topspin direct-to-fan marketing, the band will launch pre-ordering on their limited-edition 50+ page, special edition book. Featuring interviews, film stills and photographs, and all manor of creative writing, the book will also have a place to, as the press release aptly put it, “house the record.” Think of it as a literary mother-ship.
But what of the new disc? Previously released in the U.K., Luna, The Aliens’ second album is set to finally see its stateside release this fall via Birdman. The band features former members of The Beta Band. Leadman Gordon Anderson reports in the upcoming Summer Issue of Under the Radar about maintaining a stripped-down running time while still maintaining the band’s “trademark maximalism” and on songs that came to him in a dream. Came to him in a dream? How…otherworldly. (www.thealiens.co.uk)
