Dan Auerbach
The Black Keys frontman and producer Dan Auerbach is forming a new solo project to be called The Arcs. The last time Auerbach ventured from The Black Keys was his 2009 solo album entitled Keep It Hid.
Auerbach recently spoke with Rolling Stone of his new project, telling them, “I just wanted to do my thing and get extra weird. I wanted everything to flow [and] be cohesive. A lot of the songs bleed one into the other, a lot like the Grateful Dead-my favorite records that they did. So I’ve got a lot of connected songs. It’s basically everything I love about music all wrapped up into one record-that’s all!”
The first we will hear from The Arcs will be a boxing-themed single to go along with the Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Manny Pacquiao boxing match on May 2. Entitled “Stay In My Corner” with “Tomato Can” as a B-side, this single will be available through Nonesuch Records exclusively at independent record stores.
