New Zealand indie heroes The Chills have announced a new album, Snow Bound, and shared its first two singles, “Complex” and “Lord of All I Survey.” Snow Bound is due out September 14 via Fire. Below are “Complex” and “Lord of All I Survey,” followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art, as well as the band’s upcoming tour dates (all in New Zealand we’re afraid). In 2015 the band returned with their first album in two decades, Silver Bullets, and this is the follow-up to that.

The Chills’ frontman/main creative force/sole founding member Martin Phillipps presented the following checklist in a press release:

1. Establish band as much-loved New Zealand legends. Check.

2. Release the greatest summer single ever in the shape of “Heavenly Pop Hit.” Check.

3. Go on lengthy 19-year sabbatical out of the public eye. Check.

4. Return to recording and cock a weary eye at politics, the environment and other social

issues with an infectious earworm in mind. Check.

5. Sonically weld your “spindly guitar sound” and psyche roots to a new found angst

about, well, just about everything on a brand new “grown up” opus called Snow

Bound. Check.

Snow Bound Tracklist:

01 “Bad Sugar”
02 “Time To Atone”
03 “The Greatest Guide”
04 “Scarred”
05 “Complex”
06 “Deep Belief”
