The Flaming Lips Collaborate with Stardeath, Henry Rollins, and Peaches on Pink Floyd Redo
Get Ready for a Track-By-Track Interpretation of 1973's Dark Side of the Moon
Oct 16, 2009 Stardeath and White Dwarfs
In a recent L.A. Times piece (via Pitchfork), The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne divulged details of the follow-up to the band’s recent release, Embryonic, during a Q&A session at a MySpace secret show in Los Angeles last night. Wayne Coyne and co. have recorded a track-by-track interpretation of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. It has been recorded with Stardeath and the White Dwarfs (a band that features Coyne’s nephew, Dennis Coyne) and the release features guest appearances from Henry Rollins and Peaches. The album is likely to be initially released solely through iTunes.
NME’s coverage of the show reported that Coyne also mentioned the possibility of a series of shows in which The Lips will perform 1999’s The Soft Bulletin in its entirety.
