Uhh…

The latest a long line of products meant to shock and/or confuse us, The Flaming Lips unveiled their gummy fetuses. Umm…yum? If the idea of tearing into a candy replica of a baby en vitro turns your stomach, know that—like the gummy skull before it—buried deep inside it is a hard drive, filled with (you guessed it) more songs. Tunes this go around include “Enthusiasm for Life Defeats Existential Fear Part 2,” Steven’s Moonbow,” and “Squishy Glass.” Take a listen to them here.

Gummy Fetus was released on June 25th, but only in very rare quantity in Kansas.  This past Sunday night, Wayne Coyne dropped off more to OKC’s Guestroom…. and thus these streams I posted on Monday at http://www.youtube.com/user/psychexfutureheart (which also hosts every other Lips 2011 release, including entire Soft Bulletin live album).  More Fetuses will become available in the month(s) ahead.

Next up is Lightning Bolt vinyl 12” (plus companion music video for one of its songs,  “I Wanna Get High But I Don’t Want Brain Damage”), which will most likely be out within next week or so!

In terms of gummy releases, it looks like the gummy frog will be next (no joke).  Come 2012 they’ll compile all these tracks into one giant gummy Wayne Coyne (again, totally serious).
