The New Pornographers Encourage Singing in the Rain in New Video for “The Crash Years”

Chorographer Busby Berkeley was a director known for his lavish dance numbers, usually shot from above to create a series of intricate patterns. The New Pornographers is a band known for intricate harmonies, which tend to sound good at any height. The two finally meet at last (at least in spirit) in The New Pornographers’ video “The Crash Years.” In it, a series of pedestrians sporting multi-colored umbrellas come together to create a series of playful shapes.
