The shoegaze-y pop outfit The Raveonettes chose Valetine’s Day to finally set a date for the release of Raven in the Grave. The band’s fifth studio album will drop April 5 on Vice Records. According to guitarist Sune Rose Wagner, audiophiles can expect “a very un-Rave album.”

“This is the first Raveonettes album we’ve done which doesn’t feature the signature Raveonettes surf drumbeat,” Wagner said in the band’s press release. “None of the tunes have any real sunshine to them.”

Yet dark doesn’t always mean bleak. Newly released single “Forget That You’re Young”—which was unveiled today via free digital download—shows that the band has cleaned up their fuzz and uncovered a melodic elegance that’s haunting in its lucidity. The Raveonettes have one last V-Day treat for fans today: A bulk of West Coast show dates have been added to the duo’s U.S. headling tour. The tour kicks off in Philadelphia on March 30, and now includes shows along the Pacific, from San Diego to Vancouver, British Columbia. Check out the dates posted below.
