The Replacements Announce Reunion Shows

The Replacements, one of the most influential and celebrated alt rock bands of the ‘80s, have announced that they will reunite for a series of live performances this summer. Headlining Riot Fest Toronto (Aug. 24-25), as well as its off-shoots in Chicago (Sept. 13-15) and Denver (Sept. 21-22), it will be the band’s first live appearances since their infamous last show on July 4, 1991.
Earlier this year the frontman Paul Westerberg and drummer Tommy Stinson released a benefit EP titled Songs for Slim to help ailing former guitarist Slim Dunlap, who had suffered a stroke in 2012.
The reunion shows will feature Westerberg and Stinson, backed by a line-up to be announced in the near future.
