May 19, 2011 The Wooden Birds
Austin-based folk outfit The Wooden Birds are giving fans quite the tease in the weeks leading up to the release of Two Matchsticks, their sophomore effort that is slated for a June release. Today, the band offered fans a free download of the Two Matchsticks EP, which is composed of three tracks—the title track from the forthcoming album and two, previously unreleased covers that are exclusive to this EP. Best of all, the covers are inventive re-workings of Hall & Oates’ “Man Eater” and Kenny Rogers’ “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town.” When downloading this EP, you will also be eligible to pre-order the record, digitally, for a discounted price.

Wow… This is great marketing tactics. I don’t think any of the bands have made it possible for their fans to download the songs from the latest album for free like this. So, this strategy is going to give the latest album more reach in the industry. internet service providers in my area
