Sydney-based artist Total Tommy has officially announced her highly anticipated debut album, Bruises, set to drop on November 29th via [PIAS] Recordings. The album features acclaimed singles released over the past few months, including the freshly launched track “Plus One,” which she describes as a “Garbage-esque romp” about the simplicity of sex. The new single showcases vibrant guitars and infectious energy, capturing the spirit of youthful freedom.
Bruises emerges from a transformative period in Holt’s life, marked by personal upheavals including a breakup, a move, and coming out as queer. The album is a collection of scuzzy, bedroom-rock anthems that display various facets of her personality—romantic, hedonist, lost soul, wise friend, and more—all tied together by a newfound confidence. Holt reflects on this time as a period of immense growth, stating, “I grew so much, I learnt so much about myself; I mostly feel like an adult now.”
