The iconic early ‘90s TV show Twin Peaks co-created by David Lynch and Mark Frost is returning to screens May 21 with a brand new season on Showtime that’s being co-written and directed by Lynch and features much of the original cast. Showtime have announced that they are bringing Twin Peaks to SXSW with a two-day event that will feature star Kyle MacLachlan, as well as performances from Real Estate, Neko Case, M. Ward, Agnes Obel, Holly Macve, Julie Byrne, Alex Cameron, Aldous Harding, Alexandra Savior, Cameron Avery (of Tame Impala), Annie Hart (of Au Revoir Simone), Tim Darcy (of Ought), L.A. Salami, and Let’s Eat Grandma.
Described as “an immersive experience,” it will happen at The Showtime House at Clive Bar on Rainey Street in Austin, Texas on Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17. There will also be a Double R Diner pop-up shop with a Twin Peaks-inspired donut, cocktails, coffee, and cherry pie. MacLachlan, who plays Special Agent Dale Cooper, will appear on Thursday.
