Ultimate Painting
A couple of weeks ago British duo Ultimate Painting announced a new album, Up!, which was to be released April 6 via Bella Union (their first for the label after three albums on Trouble In Mind). But now the band’s Jack Cooper has announced on Twitter that Ultimate Painting have broken up due to “an irreconcilable breakdown” and the release of the album has been cancelled.
“Anyone who has worked with us knows that the partnership at the core of this band has always been a very fragile thing, but due to an irreconcilable breakdown we will no longer be working with each other,” Cooper writes. Read the full statement below.
When the album was announced the band shared a black & white video for its first single, “Not Gonna Burn Myself Anymore,” which is below again. Ultimate Painting is Jack Cooper of Mazes and James Hoare of Veronica Falls. The album was to be the follow-up to 2016’s Dusk.
