Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanlij To Score Michael Cera’s Broadway Debut
Previews Begin in Chicago on June 18
Apr 09, 2014 Vampire Weekend
There’s so many amazing angles to this story that we’re not exactly sure how to unpack it. Michael Cera (who we will forever call George Michael Bluth) is making his Broadway debut In This Is Our Youth, alongside Kieran Culkin and Rookie Mag founder Tavi Gevinson. If that’s not cool enough, note that the play is receiving an original score by Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanlij—who is also making his Broadway debut.
Naturally, the show is being produced by EGOT winner Scott Rudin who has had a hand in the likes of Inside Llewyn Davis, No Country For Old Men, The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo among others.
The show kicks off at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company from June 18 to July 27. Previews at Broadway’s Cort Theatre on August 18. Its official premiere goes down on September 11.
