Veruca Salt Announces First New Album From Original Members in 18 Years and Shares Two New Songs
Ghost Notes Due Out July 10
May 19, 2015 Veruca Salt
1990s alternative rock staples Veruca Salt reformed recently for some shows. Now original members Nina Gordon (guitar/vocals), Louise Post (guitar/vocals), Steve Lack (bass), and Jim Shapiro (drums) have announced Ghost Notes, their first full-length album written and recorded by all the original members since 1997’s sophomore album, Eight Arms to Hold You. Post was the only original member to be involved in the band’s third (2000’s Resolver) and fourth (2006’s IV) albums.
Ghost Notes was produced by Brad Wood, who also helmed Veruca Salt’s best-known album, their 1994 debut American Thighs. It is due out July 10 via El Camino Records. The band has shared two songs from it, opening track “The Gospel According to Saint Me” has a lyric video and the album’s first single, “Laughing in the Sugar Bowl,” is up on Spotify. Listen to them both below, followed by the tracklisting and tour dates. And that’s the album cover above.
