The first teaser trailer for Zoolander 2 has been released and you’d be forgiven for at first thinking we’d accidently posted a trailer for a Stephen Hawking science documentary instead. The surprise that it’s a Zoolander 2 trailer clearly worked a lot better on unsuspecting audiences who saw it this past weekend in front of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation than it does for people watching it via a news post with headline that promises a Zoolander 2 trailer, but it’s still fun to watch either way.

The trailer starts with the big bang and a voice over in a style similar to Hawking’s but then Ben Stiller’s dumb fashion model Derek Zoolander shows up. It’s always nice to see a trailer that’s been specifically shot as a trailer, rather than one that just shows off footage from the movie. Zoolander 2 isn’t due out until February 12, 2016 via Paramount Pictures. Stiller both stars and directs from a script by Justin Theroux. Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Billy Zane, and Christine Taylor all return and are joined by new cast members Kristin Wiig, Penelope Cruz, Olivia Munn, Cyrus Arnold, and Kanye West.
