Watch: Arcade Fire Perform on “Saturday Night Live”
Also Watch Their Concert Special Here Comes the Night
Sep 30, 2013 Arcade Fire
Over the weekend Arcade Fire served as the musical guest for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, where they performed music from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album Reflektor. In addition to performing the record’s title track, the band also debuted the song “Afterlife.” Getting in a bit fun with the SNL cast, the group also contributed to sketch with a fake game show called “New Cast Member or Arcade Fire?” where frontman Win Butler pulled off an impressive Robert De Niro impression.
After the episode of course came the band’s more secretively advertised concert special. Directed by Roman Coppola, the 30-minute performance featured the debut of three additional Reflektor tracks “Here Comes the Night,” “We Exist,” and “Normal Person.” Topping off the whole viewing experience were cameos from Bono, Ben Stiller, James Franco, Aziz Ansari, Bill Hader, and Zach Galifianakis, Rainn Wilson, Michael Cera, and Eric Wareheim.
