Watch: Arcade Fire’s Will Butler Shares Teaser Trailer for Solo LP, “Policy”
Out March 10
Nov 24, 2014 Arcade Fire
Last week Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist Will Butler announced the release of his debut solo album Policy. With the premiere of the record’s first single scheduled to air on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio program later today, Butler has shared an absurdist teaser trailer for the forthcoming record, featuring portions of included music.
According to a press release Policy was recorded in Jimi Hendrix’s old living room at New York City’s Electric Lady Studios over two weeks. With the exception of a few supporting players and Arcade Fire’s Jeremy Gara on drums, Butler helmed the album all on his own. The press release also says the album “is American music—in the tradition of the Violent Femmes, the Breeders, the Modern Lovers, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, the Magnetic Fields, Ghostface Killah. And John Lennon (which counts).”
