Scottish electro-pop trio CHVRCHES released a new album, Love Is Dead, in May 2018 via Glassnote. Its track “Graves” is the intro song for the latest season of the Japanese Netflix reality show Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020 and now the band has shared a video of them performing the song in the living room of the Terrace House. No, we don’t watch Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020 either and had never heard of it until now (well, maybe, dear reader, you do watch it). In the show, three men and three women who don’t know each other live in a house together and the latest season was the fifth and was shot in Tokyo. Watch the video below.

In November 2018 CHVRCHES released the five-song Hansa Session EP that was recorded in Berlin’s Hansa Studios, the same studio where David Bowie recorded his iconic Berlin trilogy with Brian Eno in the 1970s (Low, “Heroes”, Lodger).

In March the band teamed up with Marshmello, the 26-year-old dance producer from Philadelphia who wears a smiley marshmallow mask when he performs, for the new song “Here With Me.” They then all performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, when the show was broadcasting from Las Vegas for a week.

CHVRCHES were on the cover of one of our print issues in 2015 and you can read the in-depth 8-page 5,600-word cover story feature on the band here. You can also read our bonus digital magazine Q&A with them here.
