Coldplay released their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, back in December via Parlophone/Atlantic. Now the band have shared a new video for “Up&Up” and it’s probably one of their most visually striking videos to date. Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia directed the clip, which juxtaposes different images and sizes in interesting and amusing ways. Chris Martin and the band appear as giants, performing the song on huge landscapes or standing in the clouds. A volcano erupts popcorn. A young girl plays with the Golden Gate Bridge as it traverses a puddle. A view of space turns into a train exiting a tunnel. A motorboat speeds next to some wild horses that are running across the ocean. A sea turtle swims in a subway platform. Say what you will about the current state of Coldplay’s music (yes, we know they have their detractors these days), this is a fantastic and surreal video. Watch below.
