Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist Courtney Barnett stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night to cover Grateful Dead’s “New Speedway Boogie.” The cover can be found on Day of the Dead, the just released Grateful Dead covers box set that features 59 tracks and six hours of music (it’s out now on 4AD). The compilation was spearheaded by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner, with profits going to the HIV/AIDS charity Red Hot. Watch below.

Barnett’s debut full-length album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, is out now via Mom + Pop and landed at #6 on Under the Radar‘s Top 100 Albums of 2015 list. (Read our recent joint interview between Barnett and Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy.) Recently she was the musical guest on the season finale of Saturday Night Live, where she did “Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go to the Party” and “Pedestrian At Best.”
