Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and The Arcs is releasing a new solo album, Waiting on a Song, June 2 via Auerbach’s own label, Easy Eye Sound. Previously he shared videos for “Shine on Me” and “King of a One Horse Town.” Now here’s a video for the album’s title track, “Waiting on a Song.” Bryan Schlam directed the clip, which has a Dazed and Confused vibe and centers on a group of teenage boys in the 1970s the summer before all but one of them are about to go off to college. It starts with a minute of dialogue before the song kicks in. Auerbach has a cameo at a party. Watch it below.
Auerbach had this to say about the video in a press release: “Not only does the video evoke the feeling of the song, but it also pays tribute to the great tradition of Nashville songwriters. It was fun to have John Prine and Pat McLaughlin have cameos in the video as I wrote the song with them. It also has appearances by other Nashville songwriters, like Michael Heeney and Luke Dick, as well as David Ferguson who was the executive producer on the album with me.”
Director Bryan Schlam added this: “When I first heard ‘Waiting on a Song,’ I instantly thought about summer hijinks, basically anything that could happen during the last summer between high school and college. I’ve always wanted to make a movie about that weight, the feeling of moving from childhood to pseudo adulthood.”
The album is the follow-up to Auerbach’s solo debut, 2009’s Keep It Hid. A previous press release called Waiting on a Song “a love letter to Nashville” and various Nashville musicians were involved in the album, including John Prine, Duane Eddy, Jerry Douglas, Pat McLaughlin and Bobby Wood, and Gene Chrisman of The Memphis Boys. Auerbach wrote seven songs with Prine.
Auerbach previously had this to say about the album in a press release: “Living in Nashville has definitely changed the way I think about music and the way that I record it. I didn’t have all of these resources before. I am working with some of the greatest musicians that ever lived.”
Waiting on a Song will also be available as an 8 track, accompanied by “a vintage 8 track player signed and customized by Auerbach.”

We’ve all experienced that ‘tip of the tongue’ phenomenon where you know the word, but you can’t get it out.
A word finding difficulty is when a person knows and understands a particular word, but has difficulty retrieving and using it in their speech.
Dan Auerbach, frontman for The Black Keys and The Arcs, will release a new solo album titled Waiting on a Song on June 2nd. In anticipation, the LP is streaming in full below via NPR.
Waiting on a Song serves as Auerbach’s follow-up to 2009’s Keep It Hid. It’s said to be heavily inspired by Nashville, where Auerbach currently resides, and is described by the indie rocker as “a whole history of everything I love about music.”

News producers work in different media, overseeing the content, production and distribution of news. These producers should possess strong management and communications skills. Education requirements can vary, but a bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience are typical in this field.
