Watch: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson of “The X-Files” Cover Neil Young’s “Helpless” Live

Last Night in New York

May 13, 2015 David Duchovny

This week actor David Duchovny released his debut solo album, Hell or Highwater. Last night he had a show at New York’s Cutting Room venue and he brought up his X-Files costar Gillian Anderson for a cover of Neil Young’s “Helpless,” which was originally found on Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s 1970 album Déjà Vu. Of course a fan was on hand to capture the performance and we have the fan video below. The performance ends with a kiss.

The X-Files is returning to TV on January 24, 2016 with a six-episode event series on FOX starring Duchovny and Anderson. This week all the TV networks, FOX included, are having their Upfronts presentations to advertisers, where they announce their new TV schedules and show off their new shows. Duchovny and Anderson were no doubt both in New York for that.
