Animal Collective’s Deakin Announces Solo Album, Shares “Just Am” Video
Solo Debut Sleep Cycle Out Friday
Apr 06, 2016 Deakin
Animal Collective has been pretty busy of late with their own music. But that hasn’t stopped member Josh Dibb (aka Deakin) from releasing his first solo album Sleep Cycle this Friday and sharing the video for his song “Just Am.” He found support for the album through a Kickstarter project in which Dibb traveled to Mali to play at the Festival in the Desert and raise money for Temedt, an organization that is working to end slavery in Mali.
According to the press release, the album is “about self-doubt, fear, and the webs we create to get in our own way. Though it has been six years since the original intent to create the music on Sleep Cycle in the end that delay fed much of the energy and intent that’s in the music and the lyrics.”
You can watch the video for album single “Just Am” below.
