After previously releasing some brief teaser clips for the show, AMC has now shared the full trailer for Fear the Walking Dead, the new spinoff/companion series to The Walking Dead that takes place in Los Angeles at around the time the zombie outbreak starts. They have also announced that the show will premiere on August 23. The trailer debuted at Comic-Con earlier today.

The trailer shows off the main characters, high school teachers/romantic couple Travis (Cliff Curtis) and Madison (Kim Dickens) and their respective kids from previous relationships/marriages, Nick (Frank Dillane) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). The show explores what it was like at the beginning of the zombie/walker outbreak, something the man Walking Dead show never got into due to main character Rick Grimes being in a coma in that period. “When civilization ends, it ends fast,” Nick says at the end of the trailer.

As an aside, the trailer features the Chelsea Wolfe song “Carrion Flowers,” from her forthcoming new album Abyss. The song also recently soundtracked the trailer for the film Dark Places, which stars Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, and Chloe Grace Moretz and is also due out in August.

Check out the Fear the Walking Dead trailer below and earlier today we also posted the first trailer for season 6 of The Walking Dead.
