The Bruce Springsteen biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, which stars Jeremy Allen White as The Boss, has shared its first trailer today. The film is set to be released in theaters October 24. Check out the trailer below.
Directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is based on the 2023 book by Warren Zanes, Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Nebraska. The biopic revolves around the period of time in which Springsteen made his iconic 1982 album Nebraska.
White, known for his Emmy-winning turn in TV’s The Bear, does his own singing in the film, and Springsteen has approved of his casting.
The film also stars Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager and record producer Jon Landau, and Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Gaby Hoffmann, Johnny Cannizzaro, Harrison Gilbertson, Marc Maron, David Krumholtz, and Chris Jaymes also make appearances.
Nebraska consists of downtempo acoustic demos made on a four-track recorder in Springsteen’s bedroom in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Springsteen was a rising star after the legendary three-album run of Born to Run, Darkness On the Edge of Town, and The River, and the turn away from grand compositions with the E-Street Band in favor of the stripped-back acoustic songs on Nebraska caught fans by surprise. Nonetheless, the album has withstood the tests of time, and Zanes’ book and the biopic have returned to champion it once again.
