Watch: John Grant - “Voodoo Doll” Video
Grey Tickles, Black Pressure Out Now via Partisan
May 16, 2016 John Grant
John Grant released his latest album, Grey Tickles, Black Pressure, last October via Partisan in the U.S. (and Bella Union in the U.K.). Now he has shared a video for “Voodoo Doll.” The crazy clip was directed by The Diamond Brothers and finds Grant transforming into a Voodoo doctor. Watch it below.
The Diamond Brothers commented on the video in a press release: “We’ve been long time fans of John Grant since Queen of Denmark and leapt at the chance to collaborate on a music video for him. The rich visual imagery in his lyrics gave us so much to work with to create a lush world for his music to inhabit.”
There are also some forthcoming remixes of “Voodoo Doll” coming from Anna Meredith, Gwenno, Black Devil Disco, Wrangler, and Satellites. Grant is currently on tour with Andrew Bird and those dates are below.
Grey Tickles, Black Pressure features guest appearances from Amanda Palmer, Tracy Thorn, and former Banshees drummer Budgie. It’s the follow-up to 2013’s widely acclaimed Pale Green Ghosts and was produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen). Check out the video below.
