The concept for Panda Bear’s video for “Come to Your Senses” is fairly simple. A stationary camera is set up on a street in Lisbon (the adopted hometown of Panda Bear, aka Noah Lennox) and the image cross fades throughout the day, capturing all the people walking down the road. And yet there’s also something hypnotic about it.

Gorilla vs. Bear premiered the video as part of an all-day site takeover by Panda Bear. Lennox wrote about concept behind the video on Gorilla vs. Bear: “Rua da Rosa is the narrow but main street cut through the Bairro Alto neighborhood here in Lisbon. Visitors mainly stock the area during the day but it’s perhaps the principle target for partying Lisbon teenagers Thursday through Sunday nights. The constant shifts make it a particularly fascinating neighborhood to me. It’s noisy except for Sunday mornings. I’d had an idea for a while to shoot the street for a bit to catch the traffic. When my friend Sam was here shooting a short thing we made for the recent album he was game to give the idea a go.”

“Come to Your Senses” is taken from Panda Bear’s latest album, the awesomely titled Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. Check out the video below.
