Releasing the single “All Waters” a while back from his upcoming new album Put Your Back N 2 It, this morning Perfume Genius’ Mike Hadreas has unveiled a music video for a new track called “Hood.” Developed by Hadreas it co-stars gay porn star Arpad Miklos. In an interview with Pitchfork, Hadreas, who is also gay, explains that “The song’s about how if someone knew you 100%, they would go away. So, in the video, I didn’t acknowledge [Miklos] until I was fully done-up in all my gear and my wig. That’s how I feel in general. That freaky shit underneath—that’s kind of who I am, really.” Check out the finished product below. Put Your Back N 2 It is out Feb. 21 via Matador.
