Beloved character actor Jeff Goldblum (Independence Day, Jurassic Park, The Fly) also has a jazz band, Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The band performed this past weekend at England’s Glastonbury festival and Goldblum brought out a special guest, Sharon Van Etten, for a cover of the jazz standard “Let’s Face the Music and Dance.” At the festival Goldblum also announced he would be releasing a new album, one that features guest vocalists (including Van Etten). Watch official BBC video of the Glastonbury performance below. There’s also a video of Van Etten performing her own song “Seventeen” at Glastonbury and you can watch that below too.

Goldblum released his debut album, The Capitol Studio Sessions, in 2018 via Decca. He had this to say about his next album in a press release: “Getting to do another album with the sweet, sweet, enchanted elves and sprites from Decca has me floating on air, somebody please pinch me (ow, not so hard). I only hope that listeners feel what I felt when we made the record - an explosive release of ecstasy. It’s amazing to let the cat a bit out of the bag here at Glastonbury in the fleshy flesh!”

Irving Berlin wrote “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” in 1936 for the movie Follow the Fleet, as a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers duet.

Van Etten released a new album, Remind Me Tomorrow, in January via Jagjaguwar (it was our Album of the Week).

For private parties and other local artistic events, an experienced Jazz singer NY will be enough. But sometimes, an event planner can contract with a famous artist to have more audience.
