Wavves Release More Details of Fat Possum Debut
First Album Recorded In a Proper Studio Due 8/3

Wavves
The divisive and maddening lo-fi adventures of Wavves continue with the release of King of the Beach, due on Fat Possum August 3. It’s said to be a marked departure for this notoriously homespun act, as they entered a professional studio to record the album, venturing to Sweet Tea Recording in Oxford, Mississippi for a three-month session helmed by Dennis Harring (Modest Mouse). Frontman and primary songwriter Nathan Williams was assisted on two tracks co-written by bassist Stephen Pope and drummer Billy Hayes, formerly the backing band for the late Jay Reatard. Wavves take their show on the road this month across the East Coast of North America, along with an August Lollapalooza slot.
