"Heavy Mental" is Not a Typo

In a move that’s sure to make many Under the Radar staffers bang their heads against a wall, Weezer has announced their 8th full-length Heavy Mental (out September 13th via an indie label to be named). If the thought of new Weezer doesn’t make you cringe, the title certainly might. Says leadman Rivers Cuomo of the painful play on words:

“I’ve spent the entire morning trying to come up with a name for the record,” joked Cuomo, who just turned 40 this year. “How does Heavy Mental sound? There’s definitely going to be more raw rock energy on this one.” (via New Times)

What form will the “raw rock energy” take? Or, perhaps the more important question, does “raw rock energy” come with a free Snuggie?
