The Flaming Lips have announced that the title of their 12th album will be Embryonic. The follow-up to 2006’s At War With the Mystics is a double album that was recorded with their usual producer Dave Fridmann and will be released this fall by Warner Bros. An exact release date and track list has yet to be announced.

The Oklahoma City-based band are giving fans an early taste of the album this summer. If you buy a ticket to see them on their summer tour then you’ll also receive a free digital EP that includes three tracks from Embryonic: “Convinced of the Hex,” “The Impulse,” and “Silver Trembling Hands.” The EP also includes three rare B-sides selected by the band. Ticket buyers also receive a digital download bootleg of the show they attend.

Wed, Aug 26 - Chastain Park Amphitheater - Atlanta, GA (on-sale July 10)

Fri, Aug 28 - Merriweather Post Pavilion - Washington, DC (on-sale TBA)

Sat, Aug 29 - Festival Pier - Philadelphia, PA (on-sale TBA)

Sun, Aug 30 - Bank of America Pavilion - Boston, MA (on-sale June 27)

Stardeath and White Dwarfs, whose members were former roadies with The Flaming Lips, will be the support at all shows. Their debut album, Birth, is out now via Warner Bros.
