Grimes Shares Video for “Flesh Without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream,” Confirms Album Details
Art Angels Due Out November 6 via 4AD
Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) has long been teasing her new album and it has been expected that it would come out this fall. Last week she announced the album title, Art Angels, and revealed its album cover. Now she has shared a combined video for two songs on the record: "Flesh Without Blood" and "Life in the Vivid Dream." She's also announced that the album will be out digitally on November 6 via 4AD (with a physical version coming December 11). Finally, she's shared the album's tracklist, which includes a guest spot from Janelle Monáe.
Grimes wrote, directed, edited, colored, and art-directed the video herself. Her brother Mac Boucher, was the cinematographer and creative consultant. It includes many wardrobe changes, such as Grimes in a Marie Antoinette outfit. "Flesh Without Blood" is the main focus, as "Life in the Vivid Dream" is very short. "Flesh Without Blood" is Grimes' most outwardly mainstream pop song. Will it bring her a bigger audience or will it alienate her core fans for being too pop, or perhaps some combination of the two?
Check out the video below, followed by the album's tracklist and Grimes' upcoming tour dates.
