Midlake Announce “The Trials of Van Occupanther” Reissue, Share Unreleased Song “The Fairest Way”
10th Anniversary Reissue Due Out October 28 via Bella Union
Aug 30, 2016 Midlake
Midlake’s 2006-released sophomore album The Trials of Van Occupanther was both their breakthrough release and arguably remains their high point, in part due to the classic single “Roscoe.” In honor of its 10th anniversary, Bella Union is giving the album the deluxe vinyl reissue treatment. Its due out October 28 on 180-gram gold vinyl and it comes with a 7-inch that includes two previously unreleased tracks, “The Fairest Way” and “Festival,” both recorded before original vocalist Tim Smith left the band after their third album, 2010’s The Courage of Others. You can listen to “The Fairest Way” below. Also below is the original video for “Roscoe” and above is the reissue’s cover art. Midlake’s last album was 2013’s Antiphon, which was their first to feature guitarist Eric Pulido on lead vocals.
