Former Oasis guitarist/singer/songwriter Noel Gallagher is releasing a new solo album under the Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds name, Who Built the Moon?, on November 24 via Sour Mash/Caroline. Previously he shared the album's first single, the upbeat psych-pop number "Holy Mountain," as well as a video for the song. Now Gallagher has shared a lyric video for the album's opening track, "Fort Knox." The song is far-removed from his Oasis work, and instead sounds like something you'd find on one of Primal Scream's more dance-y albums. The video is fittingly a collage of colorful psychedelic images, including lots of shots of a full moon. Watch it below, followed by Gallagher's upcoming U.S. tour dates.

Gallagher had this to say about the song in a press release: "It was the last track finished on the last day in the studio. It started from a conversation talking about the Kanye West track 'The Power.' The singer, Y-See, had never even heard the track and she started to do this vocal over it and it was like: fucking hell! It all just fell in to place."

David Holmes produced Who Built the Moon? Gallagher had this to say about "Holy Mountain" in a previous press release: "It was one of the first things David and I did on the first week of working together. I knew instantly that it was going to be the first single. There's so much joy in it. Until the day I die, it will be one of my favorite pieces of music that I've ever written. It sounds great live. My kids love it, my friends' kids all love it and I am sure 'the kids' will love it."

Holmes had this to say about the album in the previous press release: "People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they're desperate for him to make a really big, bold, up-tempo beast of a record - a lot of Noel's music is quite mid-tempo. This one is fun."

To illustrate the creative process, Noel Gallagher had this to say about album track "The Man Who Built the Moon" in the previous press release: "We took a keyboard riff we liked from an unused track and added chords. A year later we came to deal with it as a song and when we got to the chorus, David kept asking me to write a new one....again and again and again. I was ready to strangle him. The one that you hear is the eighth attempt and, you know what? The annoying thing is he was right."

Johnny Marr plays guitar and harmonica on "If Love Is the Law," which also features Paul Weller on organ. The album is the follow-up to 2015's Chasing Yesterday.

Former Oasis singer, and Noel Gallagher's estranged younger brother, Liam Gallagher released his debut solo album, As You Were, earlier this month via Warner Bros.
