The long list of nominees has been announced this year’s Polaris Music Prize, honoring the best album of the year by a Canadian artist. With Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs taking the award last year, this year’s candidates include The Weeknd’s Echoes of Silence, Grimes’ Visions, Feist’s Metals, Japandroids’ Celebration Rock, Leonard Cohen’s Old Ideas, and Fucked Up’s David Comes to Life. You can view the full list of nominees below, which will narrowed down to ten on July 17, with a final winner announced on Sept. 24.
