New Standalone Single

Corey Harper
Topanga-based troubadour Corey Harper has shared a new single “Dried Blood” and we are pleased to premiere it. “Dried blood/Only see the scars when I cover them in mud” Harper croons over a lilting guitar phrase. The song is an aching piece of folk balladry that gradually reveals new layers as it gains steam. Check out the track below.
On the making of the track Harper had this to say in a statement to Under the Radar: “‘Dried Blood’ is about the fear of leaving a place in your life you’re just not quite ready to depart from yet, but know you need to. Often we find escape and freedom through burnings of the past and future, but sometimes we get stuck in a stagnant point in our lives, and need to break through the drone of everything suppressing us. For some it’s a positive change, for others the never ending cycle of breaking yourself down, just to feel something again, is their path to freedom.”
Harper has been steadily releasing singles since his 2016 debut EP On the Run. No official announcement has been made on his sophomore EP yet, but Harper announced that the EP was underway with the release of lead single “Wild Nights” back in November of 2018.
