Now available for purchase or rental, Marq Evans’ documentary The Glamour & The Squalor is about iconic Seattle DJ Marco Collins, an instrumental figure in bringing some of the alternative era’s most famous acts to bigger audiences throughout the 1990s. The film is a portrait of how music was discovered in the pre-Internet era, and how important tastemakers like Collins were in making or breaking new bands.

Releasing digitally on November 3rd and on CD December 1st from Lakeshore Records, The Glamour & The Squalor Original Soundtrack features rare radio performances from Collins’ show, including cuts by Garbage, Sebadoh, Death Cab for Cutie, Mudhoney, and others. We’re excited to give you a first listen to one of the soundtrack’s rarer selections: a little-heard acoustic version of “Only Happy When It Rains,” performed by Garbage at the 107.7 studios on May 3rd, 1996:
