Radiohead Releasing New Album This Sunday, Share Paul Thomas Anderson-directed “Daydreaming” Video
Album Out Digitally on Sunday at 2 PM EST, Out Physically June 17
Radiohead have announced that their new album will be released digitally this Sunday, May 8, at 2 PM EST (7 PM U.K. time). They have also shared another song from the album, "Daydreaming," via its video which has been directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood). The video has an Inception-like quality, befitting its title, with frontman Thom Yorke wandering around various locations, both in the city and in nature, passing through different doors, with each one leading to a surprising place. Watch it below. The song has a Kid A vibe. An album title hasn't been announced yet, but the album will be available in physical formats from June 17.
Earlier today Radiohead posted a mysterious teaser video for "Daydreaming" to their Instagram account that featured frontman Yorke wandering around an empty building. This comes on the heels of the band releasing a brand new single "Burn the Witch," and its stop-motion video, on Tuesday. The new album is Radiohead's ninth and the follow-up to 2011's The King of Limbs. Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood has scored Paul Thomas Anderson's last three films: Inherent Vice, The Master, and There Will Be Blood, so it's no surprise that he's directed their latest video.
