Sigur Rós To Guest on “The Simpsons,” Contribute Music

Sigur Rós have revealed that they will soon turn into four-fingered, yellow versions of themselves on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. According to MBL (via the Reykjavík Grapevine), the episode will focus on the titular family visiting Iceland with Carl Carlson, the town of Springfield’s resident African-Icelandic-American. In addition to covering Danny Elfman’s all-too-familiar theme song, Sigur Rós will contribute new music for the storyline.
The episode is scheduled to air on May 19. Sigur Rós new album Kveikur is due out June 17 internationally and June 18 in the U.S.
