My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James released a new solo album, Uniform Distortion, today via ATO. Now that it’s out, you can stream the whole thing below. James has also shared a new video where he talks with photographer Duane Michals, whose photo “The Illustrated Man” inspired Uniform Distortion and is featured on its cover. James previously issued a lengthy statement about the album, Michals, and its cover art, which you can read here. Watch that video below, as well as a recent live video where he performed “Throwback” at Rough Trade.

Also below are his upcoming tour dates. James’ “career-spanning” solo tour dates will be at historic venues and performing arts centers across America. One dollar from every ticket will go to The Waterfall Project to benefit United for A Fair Economy and National Bail Fund Network.

Previously James shared the album’s first single, “Just a Fool” (which was one of our Songs of the Week and which he performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert). Then he shared another song from the album, “Throwback” (which was also one of our Songs of the Week).

James released an excellent solo album, the politically-charged Eternally Even, in the fall of 2016 via ATO (it was one of Under the Radar‘s Top 100 Albums of 2016). Last December James released Tribute To 2, an album of covers that was the sequel to his 2009 George Harrison covers EP Tribute To (which was also reissued last year).

My Morning Jacket released their last album, The Waterfall, in 2015. Read our 2015 interview with Jim James about the album.

As I know, most bloggers deal with different topics. But only some bloggers try to go beyond the limits of blogging, stand upon the brim or creative writing and come up with excellent pieces of writing. This blog belongs to the second type, cheers!
