The Avalanches Share Teaser Video Featuring Father John Misty, Ariel Pink, and Danny Brown
Could the Long-Awaited New Album Finally Be Coming Out?
May 23, 2016
The Avalanches
The long awaited follow-up to Since I Left You, the acclaimed 2001 debut album by Australia’s The Avalanches, has been rumored for years. It’s one of the most talked about delayed albums of the last 15 years and at various points it seemed like the album might be finally coming. The band even gave us an in-the-studio quote about it for our “Most Anticipated Albums of 2004” issue. Well, if My Bloody Valentine can follow-up Loveless, The Avalanches can finally release a second album and the likelihood just got a lot surer now that the band has released a mysterious teaser video, which comes after the band has announced some 2016 festival appearances. The video pokes fun at the long gap between albums and features Father John Misty, Ariel Pink, Danny Brown, Royal Trux‘s Jennifer Herrema, and Kirin J Callinan, indicating that they could all guest on the album (even though Father John Misty’s response is “What are The Avalanches?). Watch below.
