Britpop and Madchester survivors The Charlatans are releasing a new album, Different Days, on May 26 via BMG. Now the band has shared the album’s first single, “Plastic Machinery.” It features the legendary guitarist of The Smiths, Johnny Marr, along with Brian Jonestown Massacre frontman Anton Newcombe. Listen below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art and the band’s tour dates.

Different Days is The Charlatans’ thirteenth album. It was co-produced by Jim Spencer at the band’s studio in Cheshire, England. As well as Matt and Newcombe, the album also features Paul Weller, crime writer Ian Rankin, and writer/actress Sharon Horgan. Marr simply had this to say about the collaboration in a press release: “It was an honor to be asked, I love the boys.”
