Yesterday Scottish icons The Jesus and Mary Chain officially announced a new album, which, when released, will be their first album in 19 years. It’s entitled Damage and Joy and is due out March 24, 2017 via ADA/Warner Music. They also shared the album’s first single and opening track, “Amputation.” Now the band have announced some new tour dates. They are all in the U.K. (although they also have some previously announced U.S. dates this month) and are below, followed again by “Amputation.”

Last month Creation Records founder and the band’s manager, Alan McGee, said in an interview with CBC that the band’s new album would be due out next March. The album of course features founding members and brothers Jim and William Reid. Former Lush bassist Phil King, who has long been touring with The Jesus and Mary Chain, also plays on the record, as does JAMC’s touring drummer Brian Young. Youth produced the album and also plays bass on it.

The Jesus and Mary Chain haven’t released a studio album since 1998’s Munki, but last year they were found touring their classic 1985-released debut album Psychocandy, performing it in full in honor of its 30th anniversary. Frontman Jim Reid also revealed in an interview last year with Time Out New York that the band was working on a new album, saying it was “a more mature sound for the Mary Chain.”
