While UK artist Kwes explored the awkwardness of a crowded elevator ride with the music video for his track “Bashful,” Here We Go Magic decided to turn said awkwardness into outright insanity when it came time to make a visual accompaniment for their own single “Hard To Be Close.”

Directed by Nat Livingston Johnson and Greogry Mitnick the clip uses the song to tell the story of three strangers trapped in an elevator for millions of years (despite the fact that they don’t age and have no need to eat or use the bathroom).

Shot on location at the Trump Tower complex in Miami-Dade over the course of a single night Mitnick says, “We had a couple brushes with authorities, but we gave them candy and kisses, and that tided them over until the morning.” Click below to watch the video. Supporting their new album A Different Ship, the band has also announced a new set of tour dates, which are also on view below.
