Season Premiere This Thursday

Portlandia
This week Portlandia returns with the launch of its fifth season. Changing up the format of its usual comedy sketches, the premiere episode is poised to showcase a single storyline, following Toni Rose (Carrie Brownstein) and Candace Devereaux (Fred Armisen), otherwise known as the snooty owners of the Women & Women First feminist book store. Tracing back the pair’s origins, a preview clip shows that Brownstein and Armisen’s characters weren’t always the best of friends, evident from the fact that they take each other on in a 90s’ dance battle to Snap!‘s “The Power.” Click below to watch.
Portlandia premieres this Thursday, Jan. 8 at 10 p.m. on IFC.
